Sign Rehab

I found this Teeter Bros. metal sign a little over 10 years ago when my grandmother was selling the farm and having an auction. She told us if we found anything we wanted before the sale started, to take it. I found this along with another sign that just said FUNERAL HOME. I didn't take the funeral home sign, but sometimes wish I had. It originally had old flakey black paint on it and I sanded that off shortly after getting it.....and then it just sat there, neglected.

Before moving to the new house, I had decided I was going to create a Missouri-themed collage wall. (Oh, and this is MO-related because, if I recall correctly, Teeter Bros. was a funeral home in Carthage.) So, after moving, I decided it was time to rehab poor Teeter Bros. I pulled out the black craft paint and several coats later....... viola!

I originally intended the MO wall to go in my office, but I have enough items to do it in the downstairs family room now! That project will have to wait though. Still no climbing ladders or chairs for me for a little bit longer!
