Kitchen Table Upgrade

We've had the same small kitchen table since 2004 when we lived in an apartment in Springfield. It was only the two of us, so we didn't worry about getting something big at the time. Plus, Rob was still finishing police academy, I was working on my masters, we were getting married, and we were house hunting....so we already had enough expenses. So, small on-sale table was a great option for us. But, when the small on-sale table was moved into the new house, it was dwarfed...big time....in the new eating area.

Before my grandmother passed away, she said we could have her table. But, at the time, we were still in the old house and the table was too big for the space we had. Plus, I'm sure I said something about it not being my style. But it's funny how something becomes more your style after you get a bigger kitchen area and your grandmother passes away making the table a bit more sentimental.  (See the Bulletin Board Project post for more on the sentimentality of the table.)

Grandma Twyla's table fills the space so much better and we can now accommodate about 10 people around the table when we have friends and family over. Which means no more pulling out the card table for gatherings! Yippee!
