There's a First Time for Everything
We hosted Family 4th of July this year. It was our first time hosting a family holiday for my dad's side of the family. I think it went well! We had a bounce house, kiddie pool, a slip n slide, and fireworks for the kids. BBQ pulled pork, BBQ shredded chicken, and hot dogs filled us up for dinner. The weather was perfect. Folks actually commented that they were chilly!

Plate Wall
I found some great inspirations for a plate wall on Pinterest several weeks ago. I gathered all my pretty miscellaneous plates that I've accumulated over about the past decade or so....and then it hit me. Project Paralysis. I couldn't decide on which wall to hang the plates. What if I picked the wrong wall and then had all these holes in the wall?! What if it didn't look good?!
After mentioning my Project Paralysis to the hubby, he just nonchalantly replied that if it didn't look right, then we'd try another wall. He had no concern for the potential Swiss cheese wall of holes I was worried about! Well, if he's not going to worry about it, then why was I?
So, with my Project Paralysis subsiding, I chose the wall over the couch in the living room. I worked on it over two lunch breaks during days I was working from home. The result...lovely!
I love it. I can look at it from the kitchen or from the big chair in the living room. I'm so glad I finally have a place to display all my plates. I even have more to add to it at some point. I'm so glad I did it.

where has the time gone?!
Who has two thumbs, can make a mean million dollar spaghetti, but has neglected her blog since November? You got it...this girl. To the friends / family / strangers who may occasionally check this blog...I'm sorry. I will try to do better. And it might actually be easier now that I've downloaded an app to blog from my phone!

Brandon is three years old!
Ok, that's just one highlight for each of us, but we've kept pretty busy. Hopefully, I can be better about keeping this blog going now that I can write it on my phone. Fingers crossed...
