Second, the room needed new paint. The current dark brown was just too dark for the small space.

| Voila! |
Oh, isn't that better?! It's so much brighter in here now! We used Valspar low VOC paint, but the color is Behr Gobi Desert. We used it in our living room on the "Indian Reservation" (as we've come to learn our old neighborhood is called). [Note: All the streets are named after Indian/Native American tribes, hence being called the Indian Reservation.]
Did you notice what we did about the towel rack situation?
I've seen a few items on Pinterest showing double shower curtain rods and folks using the second rod for towels, but when I looked up the price of those rods....well, it was more than I was wanting to spend. We ran to Springfield on Sunday after church. While there, we checked Target and found that two tension rods would be at least $20 less than the cheapest double shower curtain rod I found online. Two separate rods also gave us the flexibility to put them exactly where we wanted them. We really like it so far! While we were at it, we also got a new shower curtain. Something a little more subtle that we won't have to worry about color matching with new bath mats eventually. I was going to get white, but opted for ivory after my husband reminded me that it was for our sons' bathroom. One husband, two sons, bright white shower curtain next to the toilet....uh, no.
Third, decor! I want to go for a surfer/beach theme. I've picked up a few items along the way since moving here. I'm hoping I can fit them all in!
I also have an item I want to get from Etsy. Can you say SHARK?!
Still to do...ORB the curtain hooks, paint the mirror frame, and get new bath mats.
