This was the big weekend....the city-wide garage sale! I was determined to not be stressed over this event, so I started planning weeks in advance...which worked out really well! I weeded our closets and took piles of clothes to the consignment shop each week. What the store didn't take then went to the garage and was priced. I also weeded household decor. I set up a laundry basket full of blankets we rarely use and sold them for $1 apiece. Everything was priced to move!
I borrowed two ladders from Dad to create a super long hanging rack. Almost every night I went out and did at least one thing that was garage sale related. I even had time to fix a coffee cake the night before for breakfast!
Mom/Grandma came over to help out Saturday morning since Rob needed to sleep a bit. Brandon's daycare had a carnival on the same day, so Grandma and Brandon went over there for a little while. I was expecting him to come home with his face painted like a tiger or something, but Grandma said he wasn't into that this year.
I would say, overall, that the garage sale was a success! We almost sold the jetted tub (so close!). I got rid of a few purses, clothes, and baby items. I was stunned to find that Rob's clothes sold pretty quickly. One woman bought almost all of them!
Now to pack things up for donation to various organizations. (Jetted tub to Habitat for Humanity's Restore, clothes to Goodwill and a local clothing bank, etc.)
